Side note: The Little Flock Church, near Springvale, was organized at Green's schoolhouse, about three miles west of Springvale, in Pratt County, on Saturday before the second Sunday in August 1897, with five charter members, viz., John Cook, Elizabeth Ann Cook, W. H. Branson, Nancy M. Branson, and J. I. Latham. The presbytery was composed of Elder J. B. Hardy from Pleasant Valley Church, and Elder J. J. Rowland from West Liberty Church. Elder J. B. Hardy, of Wellsford, was chosen as the first pastor.

Farming for Jim Purdue
Last Tuesday, Croft neighbors plowed 350 acres for Jim Perdue, Croft, who is confined to the Ninnescah Hospital in Pratt for injuries he received in a fall from a windmill tower on May 23. There were 14 tractors and an oil truck.

School Excerpt from the
Pratt Mirror, January 14, 1916: Mr. Marion Bryant and Miss Anna Johnson
constitute the teaching force at Croft. The school work there is
progressing nicely in spite of rather adverse conditions. Miss Johnson
has twenty-four pupils in a little "two-by-four" room; and
although she has to hang part of the pupils on pegs in that wall while
others recite, she is doing about as good primary work as is to be found
in the country. The character of the work done is indicated by samples
of school work, art work and construction work recently forwarded to the
county superintendent.
